What’s holding you back from real estate success? Fear of failure? Fear of the unknown?
Below are the biographies of some young teens who knew they wanted to be in the real estate market one way or another, to find success and to build their future careers. You’ll notice that not one of them was afraid to take a risk and try something new and not one of them was afraid to ask the necessary questions to be do their jobs well.
Rich Lewetzow was a high school freshman when he began working part time at a small real estate office. He performed various tasks for the realtors, went to open houses, observed how the realtors interacted with clients, and performed site inspections. At 18 he earned his real estate license and sold his first listing – a condo in San Francisco – for $625,000.
Ty Bergman earned his real estate license at age 18 while taking classes at his community college. Even though he was shy growing up, his mother prodded him to get into real estate after seeing the success of her own father in this business. Ty’s father also earned his real estate license and now the father-son team have a real estate development company in Los Angeles.
Austin Hay may only be 16-years old but he has already built his own house. The 130-square foot house sits in his parents’ backyard on a trailer base but has a loft bedroom with shower, a refrigerator, and outdoor cooking stove. He estimates his home cost $12,000 to build and is proud to be part of a tiny house movement.
These stories go to prove that you shouldn’t let your age or lack of experience hold you back from trying something new. Granted, it’s more risky as an adult who has bills and maybe a family to support but you can also start off part time in real estate to see if it’s the right fit for you before giving up your current job.
