Build Your REI Business with Printed “Money”

You may be one of the lucky folks who has found money on the ground at some time or another. Remember that feeling of “Wow! There’s a $X bill!” Well, you can recreate that feeling for others while building your business and finding legitimate prospects at the same time. How? By using what many call “drop cards,” because the method of using these printed “dollar bills” is to accidentally-on-purpose drop the cards everywhere you go.

Drop cards are creative little marketing tools that look just like real currency, whether a $5, $10, $20 or even $100 bill. They’re only about half as long, however, so you won’t get in trouble with the government! In fact, when folded, they look like a dollar bill that has been accidentally dropped from a pocket, wallet or purse. That’s key since that’s what makes people pick them up.

Once in hand, folks will naturally turn the “bill” over, unfold it and read what you’ve cleverly had printed on the back. A simple message such as, “If you rent from me, you could be saving this much money every month,” or “Need money now? I buy houses!” both with a contact number or URL. Drop cards give you the ability to attract the attention of prospects who are interested in selling their homes or who are looking for a quality rental.

In addition, drop cards are inexpensive, costing about the same as a decent business card. And you can even print your own, if you prefer. Just use textured paper to make them look more realistic. Though if you’re not a good graphic designer, it’s worth the small investment to have a professional print them for you.

Since the use of such cards is pretty much a numbers game, you’ll want to drop a lot of cards. So be sure to order enough that you can drop them everywhere you go.

Possible locations to drop your cards include:

• public restrooms
• parking garages
• under a restaurant table
• tucked inside a library book you’ve returned
• near free home magazine stands
• near an ATM
• at local events and trade shows
• with the edge sticking out from under a vending machine

The use of dollar bill drop cards is limited strictly by your imagination! Be careful to not place them where they might be considered litter, or in a slot designed for real money which might damage a machine. There are any number of places you can legitimately “drop” your card that will attract notice and profitably build your REI business with minimal effort or cost.
